Innovate Kisumu is Amazing Kisumu Foundation’s innovation Lab. We help Lake Basin Regional Bloc businesses to grow through innovation.
Kisumu’s location is very strategic regarding the growth and development of the whole Lake Region bloc; thus, our vision is for Kisumu to be a global hub for innovation by 2036.
We are a community of entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders from all walks of life, working together to create a more prosperous and equitable future for the people of Kisumu.
Our mission is to find solutions to pressing social and economic problems, foster stakeholder collaboration, and create employment opportunities for the local population.
We offer a wide range of programs and services to help individuals and organizations in the region to create a better future. These include workshops, seminars, mentorship, business incubation, and financing for startups and small businesses.
Action Plan
Innovation is the lifeblood of any business. Businesses that invest in innovation have higher growth and higher productivity potential.
Innovation delivers economic growth, new jobs, and better living standards. We will motivate, involve, and invest in innovation.
This project will establish an innovation center in Kisumu to support innovation and entrepreneurship, increasing the rate at which ideas, intellectual property, and research and development are translated into products, services, viable companies, and jobs.
Priority themes
We focus our main activities on the following five strategic themes:
- future economy: what the Kisumu economy will be like in the future
- growth at scale: how companies can grow and scale up
- global opportunities: helping build new supply chains, positioning Kisumu companies as the partners of choice, and attracting inward investment
- innovation ecosystem: working with partners to ensure our system offers excellent support for business innovation
- government levers: helping government support business innovation through procurement, standards, codes, regulation, and other levers.
To understand what the lake Basin economy could be like in future, we look at the trajectory of global markets, the likely evolution of technology, and important societal issues and trends.
